Why learn grammar? Children learn to speak without it.
Yes, children can do it, but adults can’t. They also can’t grow like children, but can do many things that children can’t, like learn abstract grammar concepts and apply them in practice.
Russian communication strongly depends on grammar: the word order is flexible, and word forms change all the time. Learning grammar is essential, and Active Grammar is a great tool for it.
Is Active Russian Grammar enough to learn Russian?
No, it is very helpful, but insufficient: you would need more reading and listening, practicing Russian with speaking partners, and we would definitely recommend group or individual lessons with a good teacher. However, this is your ultimate resource for mastering grammar, feeling confident, and building a strong foundation for your progress in Russian.
What age and level is it suitable for?
Active Grammar is written for 13 + learners, that is all those who can’t absorb grammar structures from the environment like we all do in early childhood. The first volume covers levels A1 – A2, the second is for levels B1 – B2.

Ces activités sont extrêmement utiles: les phrases sont claires et intéressantes, et je trouve l'ensemble très pédagogique, en particulier la partie audio, si importante pour mémoriser les formes.
